Spirit House is out!

As you may have heard, I self-released Spirit House on Wednesday September 23rd.  It’s currently available as a digital download or in CD format through my bandcamp.  I’m so excited and relieved that the album is finally out!

I had to move our big DC release show from 9/23 to 11/21 due to transit issues surrounding the papal visit, so you still have a chance to catch my performance with the full ensemble!!  You can find out more about this special show through the online invitation here.

I’m currently in the middle of a week-long tour supporting the album with Ethan and cellist Katie Weissman of Tiny Rhymes.  Ethan reshaped the arrangements for this smaller set-up, and we’re having a blast playing the songs in this new context!

Spirit House is receiving positive features!  Today, NPR Music’s blog All Songs Considered ran a post where I go through the album track by track and provide some context for what inspired each song.  They also included “Even Magic Falters” on their New Mix playlist.

Helen Gregory from Folk Radio UK blew me away with her in-depth review of Spirit House.  She understood the album so well that she hyper-linked the article that inspired my song “Calm Canary of the Arctic Sea” (without me telling her about it).  I was amazed that Helen was able to find all of my lyrical easter eggs.

You can also learn more about the album by reading a review through The Vinyl District and by listening to an interview on the Chunky Glasses podcast.

And now, back to the tour!! So far, it’s been great!  We played in New York, Providence, and Boston.
